What have you bought now?

Well, not a lot today! All geared up for an online auction, finger hovering over the 'bid' button and not a single purchase.

Turns out it's a leap of faith too far, buying lots when you haven't seen them. Close investigation of the auctioneer's website took me quite a way down the road towards purchase, certainly helping with product identification, but it can't tell you that the cover is only held on by a sliver, for example. And the moral of this story is ... get to the viewing session!

A visit to my local pop-up auction (I'm a bit coy about naming the auctions) in August gathered in an array of theatre and related ephemera - Casino de Paris, Alhambra de Bruxelles, Queen's Hall, Crystal Palace, Theatre Royal Haymarket, Comic Opera Berlin, and so on. Mainly pre-World War I, 1910-14, then 1920s. The research is interesting, and there may be some appeal - but is it on eBay?!

Also three souvenir albums, or viewbooks, 1890s cord-bound book of Niagara Falls, and two c.1910 of Alpine locations. The photos of Niagara (which I've always had a strange attraction to) are stuck in, all black and white of course.
